YOU ANC’N NOTHING YET

Local elections are upon us, and political parties are in a mud-slinging frenzy to gain votes.

ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu claims that the DA paid Ntobikayesi Lugalo, ‘a poor community member, to peddle lies’ in the DA television ad ahead of the local government elections on Wednesday.

In the advert Lugalo claims that the DA delivered electricity to her shack.

Mthembu said that the woman's house had not been electrified, as implied in the advert, and that she still used candles and paraffin.

But then he goes on to say ‘Faced with the embarrassing consequence of its fictional advert, the DA moved swiftly to provide an illegal electricity connection to Lugalo's shack.’

So let me get this straight.
The DA provided an illegal electricity connection to Lugalo’s shack, but she is still using candles and paraffin.

Alternately, the DA saw or heard that Mthembu had visited Lugalo’s shack and witnessed that she did not have electricity, and then moved swiftly to supply her with an unsafe and illegal connection that she now uses.

Mthembu also states that any service delivery to Tambo Square, including electricity, was delivered while the ANC was in power in Cape Town.

The DA insists that they delivered electricity to every plot in Tambo Square in 2006.

So why does Lugalo not have electricity? Or does she?

In the meantime, our smiling president, who appears more and more detached from the whole ‘ruling party’ thing, and who now has a twitter account and has probably also learnt textese, promises us that ‘The ANC will bring about change LOL.’
