THE ROOT OF THE DUMB BLONDE THEORY

Curious as to the origin of the ‘Dumb Blonde’ theory, I went on an online investigative rampage.
The explanation that makes the most sense has its roots in ancient times. It also explains quite few other popular theories about blondes

In Medieval Europe, the upper classes tended to be darker haired, probably due to the period tendency of marrying within one’s own class.
On the other hand, the Germanic and Celtic people that the Greeks and Romans enslaved were mostly blonde or red-haired.

Blonde hair was, at this time, associated with commoners, who were ostensibly deemed less intelligent.

The guys, however, found the blonde babes wildly attractive and the blondes had little option but to become the mistresses and courtesans of the rich and poweful. 'Gentlemen prefer blondes?'

The wives of these adulterous husbands reassured themselves by telling each other, and themselves, that blondes were ditzy, worthless and dumb commoners.

There you have it.
The root of the ‘dumb blonde’ theory.

But today we know that this is nothing more than a myth.
Don’t we?

Blondes themselves have long ago realised that they could very effectively use this popular perception to their own advantage, and this was probably the root of yet another theory. 'Blondes have more fun.'

Zsa Zsa Gabor, a very famous blonde, once said ‘I am a marvellous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house.’

That’s not dumb at all.
Gabor has been married nine times.
