DE-CLUTTERING MY LIFE
‘I was buried under all that stuff’,
‘I was drowning’ and ‘I feel like I am
suffocating.’
These are metaphors used by people talking to Oprah’s
guest, organisational expert Peter Walsh.
These people were talking about physical
clutter in their homes, and the expert was talking about
how clutter in the home robs us spiritually, because we
can't be at peace in a cluttered home. And it robs us psychologically,
by stealing our ability to feel motivated in our space.

In other words, Feng Shui.
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system of
aesthetics believed to use the laws of heaven and Earth
to help one improve life by receiving positive qi.
Qi (also chi or ch'i) is an active principle forming part
of any living thing.
Qi is frequently translated as ‘energy flow’.
Now I do not have a cluttered home, but
I was certainly feeling that ‘I was buried under all
that stuff’, ‘I was drowning’ and ‘I
feel like I am suffocating.’
My clutter was in my head and in my life.
I had gotten so caught up in the survival game that I was
cluttering my life with too many events, too many sponsorship
proposals, too many venues too many concepts.
And the financial gain did not come close to justifying
the destruction of my soul in the process.
In short, I was not living anymore.
Well today I made
up my mind to rid myself of the clutter and find qi
again. |

It took less than half a day, and it is
done.
What a relief.

BIZARRE RABBIT CRUSH FETISH:
People are weird. I know that. But just how weird they are never
ceases to amaze me. Disgust me.
I’m almost too disgusted to post this on my site.
Well, there is no reasonable point,
except maybe to further nurture and spread a healthy disgust
for how sick human beings are capable of being.

RECIPE FOR SEAFOOD PAELLA:
Before we rush into the kitchen to cook, let’s clear up
the pronunciation thing.
It is pronounced pah-el-ya, but the first L is pronounced in
a rather complicated way where the tongue does not actually
touch the pallet. So it sounds closer to pah-eh-ya.
Got it?
Let’s

CONFUSE THEIR TONGUES AND RULE:
I often bitch about the fact that we have eleven official languages
in SA, claiming that it a sure-fire way to ensure that we never
understand each other and a powerful deterrent to racial harmony
and a united nation.
I had no idea that Nelson Mandela and the ANC were simply following
a divine strategy to remain in power well into the future.

2OUENSVIBE: WORK IS A HOLIDAY.
LIVE THE SIDELINE: I emerged slowly, irritably,
from a troubled sleep, to the incessant beeping of my cellphone.
Seventeen ‘please call me’s’ from the angels
in Koeberg Road.
I knew instinctively what this meant.

THE ROOT OF THE DUMB BLONDE THEORY:
Curious as to the origin of the ‘Dumb
Blonde’ theory, I went on an online investigative rampage.
The explanation that makes the most sense has its roots in ancient
times. It also explains quite a few other popular theories about
blondes
