When Ty Dettmer sent me her
pics she wrote ‘I am one of Sports Illustrated's New
Model Search finalists but unfortunately did not win. I
have not modelled professionally before SI but definitely
want to continue.'
25-year-old Ty was born in Durban. She lived in Joburg until
she was 9, moved to France and now plans to live between
Cape Town and Mauritius!
Ty studied Fine Art in London, Paris and New York. She loves
to paint and that is what she does now.
But since being chosen as a finalist in SI, Ty, who always
thought her height (1.69cm) was against her, is hoping that
more modelling jobs will come her way.
