ALL ABOUT THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT
Tara Psychic is one of the relative money-spinners
when it comes to monetising this site. Although we may not
believe in fortunetelling and predicting the future, many
of us cannot resist the temptation of glancing into the
future.
Yesterday, 3 February, was the start of
the Chinese New Year.
FYI it’s the start of the year 4709 in the Chinese
calendar.
Did they have a calendar 2698 years before Jay-Cee?????

2010, or 4708, was the Year
of the Tiger, and we all know what a ferocious year that
was, although for me personally, 2009 (4707), the Year of
the Ox, was even worse. But that’s just me.
The good news is that this is The Year of
the Rabbit, and the nature of the rabbit is tranquil and
reflecting.
Chinese astrologers would have us believe that 4709 will
bring more tranquillity to our lives, and that it is a period
of internal reflecting, calm and happiness.
An ideal time to lick the wounds inflicted by the tiger
last year, and an opportunity that most of us would welcome,
I am sure.
But on the roads of China, this coming week
at least, there will be no such calm and tranquillity.
The week long New Year’s holiday is
one of very few public holidays in China and for many this
is the only opportunity they have to visit with family and
friends.
That means that an estimated 700 million Chinese are on
the move in China this week.
And you thought we had traffic problems?
Anyway, I lost interest in the predictions
for 2011 when I discovered how the Chinese horoscope actually
started.
It
is said that Buddha invited all of the animals in
the world to join him for the New Year celebrations,
but only 12 animals bothered to turn up. As a reward,
Buddha named a year after each one of them and they
actually run in the order that the animals arrived
to celebrate with Buddha, starting with the rat and
ending with the last guest to arrive, the pig. |

BIZARRE RABBIT CRUSH FETISH:
People are weird. I know that. But just how weird they are never
ceases to amaze me. Disgust me.
I’m almost too disgusted to post this on my site.
Well, there is no reasonable point,
except maybe to further nurture and spread a healthy disgust
for how sick human beings are capable of being.

RECIPE FOR SEAFOOD PAELLA:
Before we rush into the kitchen to cook, let’s clear up
the pronunciation thing.
It is pronounced pah-el-ya, but the first L is pronounced in
a rather complicated way where the tongue does not actually
touch the pallet. So it sounds closer to pah-eh-ya.
Got it?
Let’s
cook! |

CANDICE BOUCHER IN PLAYBOY: South
African model Candice Boucher, the new ‘face’ of
Guess Jeans, has created quite stir when she was featured on
the cover of Playboy this month with an ‘Undressed in
Africa’ nude pictorial inside.
Playboy magazine no doubt appreciates the increased sales.

CONFUSE THEIR TONGUES AND RULE:
I often bitch about the fact that we have eleven official languages
in SA, claiming that it a sure-fire way to ensure that we never
understand each other and a powerful deterrent to racial harmony
and a united nation.
I had no idea that Nelson Mandela and the ANC were simply following
a divine strategy to remain in power well into the future.

2OUENSVIBE: WORK IS A HOLIDAY.
LIVE THE SIDELINE: I emerged slowly, irritably,
from a troubled sleep, to the incessant beeping of my cellphone.
Seventeen ‘please call me’s’ from the angels
in Koeberg Road.
I knew instinctively what this meant.

THE ROOT OF THE DUMB BLONDE THEORY:
Curious as to the origin of the ‘Dumb
Blonde’ theory, I went on an online investigative rampage.
The explanation that makes the most sense has its roots in ancient
times. It also explains quite a few other popular theories about
blondes
