As I go about the daily toils of life, I
am beginning to feel that there is no place in today’s
world for a value system such as mine. It’s old
school.
Out there, it is every man for himself,
and the consensus seems to be ‘Get as much (material
things) as you can out of life, irrespective of how you
do it.’
In other words ‘Dog eats dog.’
But that it is not exactly what happens
out there.
Not everyone out there is a dog.
There are cats out there too.
Sure, occasionally
the real vicious dogs eat lesser dogs in their quest,
but mostly they are all devouring the souls of innocent
humble cats out there. |
|
And when they succeed in their quest we
call them ‘Fat Cats’ when in essence they are
really ‘Fat Dogs’.
I do not have it in me to be a dog. Nor
do I particularly want to be a dog. Fat or thin.
So where to for me in this world?
One increasingly attractive option would
be to become a hermit.
But first I need to find the money to afford it.
Brick wall.
PS
I wrote the above article yesterday afternoon. It is now
3am and I have been thinking long and hard about it.
I think I have just identified a fundamental error in my
value system.
But I will share that with you tomorrow.
Nah.
Maybe Monday.
It’s far too deep for a Friday.
