FIFA NOW RULES SOUTH AFRICA

If I bought a Merc and paid for it in full, I would assume that the car belonged to me, and that I would be free to do with it as I please.

Within reason, of course, and obviously within the law.

For example, I would be free to sell the car if I chose to, and I would be able to sell it to whoever I chose to.

The same would apply to a house, an appliance, theatre tickets and even a donut.
I would be able to sell my belongings to any willing buyer because I paid for it in full and therefore it belonged to me.

Can MBSA insist that I am only able to sell the car back to them?
Can Pam Golding insist that I can only sell the house back to them?
Can Game and the bakery insist…
You get the point?

Can they take it a step further and make it an offence for me to sell the product to anyone but them?

So who the fok does FIFA think they are? The Gods of all things remotely connected to soccer?

According to media reports, the Trade and Industry Department's new regulations, which come into effect on Monday, make it a criminal offence to sell your World Cup tickets without FIFA's consent.
Culprits found guilty could be fined R200 000, face five years in prison or both.

Match event services was FIFA's exclusive service provider allowed to sell and distribute tickets for the tournament, and anyone who does not want their tickets must sell them back to FIFA.

Has the monopoly laws and the Competitions Board been scrapped for the duration of the SWC?

Was it in fact a condition of hosting the 2010 SWC that all laws and regulations in South Africa be rewritten according to FIFA’s whims and wishes?
