10 THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR TODAY
When the going gets tough, the tough are
supposed to be grateful.
Stop concentrating on what you don’t have and be grateful
for what you have.
No matter how little it seems, know and appreciate that
there are millions who are far worse off than you.
So take a moment to ponder what you have.
And write it down.
It’s very important that you write it down.
Somehow it makes it more tangible, or so they say.

While we all agree that it is far easier for Oprah to practice
this, the principle does have its benefits.
If one cannot appreciate the small things
in life, the chances of ever being happy are absolutely
zilch.
So let’s give this a shot.
1.
I am not Graham Smith
2. I do not live in Libya,
Syria or Japan
3. I have the flu and not terminal
cancer
4. I am broke but not broken
5. I have a beautiful daughter
who loves me, and a very cute 30-month-old grandson who
once told me that he doesn’t.
6. I can still afford to play
the lotto every second week
7. I speak English reasonably
well
8. I have clothes
9. I am still around
10. Over 15 000 unique users
per month are interested enough to read my daily ramblings
regularly.

BIZARRE RABBIT CRUSH FETISH:
People are weird. I know that. But just how weird they are never
ceases to amaze me. Disgust me.
I’m almost too disgusted to post this on my site.
Well, there is no reasonable point,
except maybe to further nurture and spread a healthy disgust
for how sick human beings are capable of being.

RECIPE FOR SEAFOOD PAELLA:
Before we rush into the kitchen to cook, let’s clear up
the pronunciation thing.
It is pronounced pah-el-ya, but the first L is pronounced in
a rather complicated way where the tongue does not actually
touch the pallet. So it sounds closer to pah-eh-ya.
Got it?
Let’s

CANDICE BOUCHER IN PLAYBOY: South
African model Candice Boucher, the new ‘face’ of
Guess Jeans, has created quite stir when she was featured on
the cover of Playboy this month with an ‘Undressed in
Africa’ nude pictorial inside.
Playboy magazine no doubt appreciates the increased sales.

CONFUSE THEIR TONGUES AND RULE:
I often bitch about the fact that we have eleven official languages
in SA, claiming that it a sure-fire way to ensure that we never
understand each other and a powerful deterrent to racial harmony
and a united nation.
I had no idea that Nelson Mandela and the ANC were simply following
a divine strategy to remain in power well into the future.

2OUENSVIBE: WORK IS A HOLIDAY.
LIVE THE SIDELINE: I emerged slowly, irritably,
from a troubled sleep, to the incessant beeping of my cellphone.
Seventeen ‘please call me’s’ from the angels
in Koeberg Road.
I knew instinctively what this meant.
TBG sighting!

THE ROOT OF THE DUMB BLONDE THEORY:
Curious as to the origin of the ‘Dumb
Blonde’ theory, I went on an online investigative rampage.
The explanation that makes the most sense has its roots in ancient
times. It also explains quite a few other popular theories about
blondes
