Jason ‘Pang’ Canterbury from
Elsies River, like so many other children on the Cape Flats,
grew up aspiring to be a gangster, and when he became South
Africa’s youngest ever lotto winner in 2003 his R6.7million
win was his ticket to realising his dream.
Jason very quickly squandered most of his
winning on drugs.
When his winnings were almost depleted he turned to the
drug trade.
There is no way that you can
get involved in the drug trade on the Cape Flats without
getting involved with Cape Town’s street gangs and
in turn with South Africa’s notorious numbers gangs.
In 2009 the luckless Jason was convicted
and sentenced to 28 years in prison for the 2006 murder
of one of his drug runners, Henry ‘No Rules’
Stevens, over R8000 in missing drugs and drug money.
His co-accused, Russel "Sniper"
Johannes and Remo Kuys were sentenced to 15 and 3 years
respectively.
All three have now been granted leave to appeal.
‘No Rules’ was shot dead and
buried in Canterbury’s yard.
The body was later exhumed and disposed of. It was never
found.
Canterbury denied masterminding the murder
but admitted to assisting in disposing of the body. His
lawyer now claims that the reason why Canterbury assisted
in disposing of the body instead of going to the police
was that the murder was executed by members of the 28s gang
and he - Canterbury - feared for his life.
This case has all the makings of a Ross
Kemp documentary.
Two suspects, 28s gang members Jason ‘Boere’
van der Ross and Clinton ‘Pit’ Cyster were originally
regarded as dangers to society, but later entered the witness
protection programme and testified against Canterbury.
Legal counsel for Canterbury also claims that the State’s
star witness Chandre Petersen told a total of 89 lies in
court, and the man accused of pulling the trigger, Wilfred
‘Wimpie’ Gouws, was himself murdered before
the end of the trial.
I think that, if in his appeal ‘Pang’
implies that members of the 28s gang was responsible for
the killing, he needs to very quickly win another lotto
jackpot to buy himself out of prison, and out of the country.
If not, him dead.
In or out of prison.
And if you think this is far
fetched.....if you are one of those who think that the Brandhouse
ad ‘Papa wag vir Jou’ is cute, check out the
real deal below as Ross Kemp interviews John Mongrel,, the
highest ranking member of the 28s gang in Cape Town's Polsmoor
prison.

People are weird. I know that. But just how weird they are never
ceases to amaze me. Disgust me.
I’m almost too disgusted to post this on my site.
Well, there is no reasonable point,
except maybe to further nurture and spread a healthy disgust
for how sick human beings are capable of being. Read More….

6 July 2010 RECIPE FOR SEAFOOD PAELLA:
Before we rush into the kitchen to cook, let’s clear up
the pronunciation thing.
It is pronounced pah-el-ya, but the first L is pronounced in
a rather complicated way where the tongue does not actually
touch the pallet. So it sounds closer to pah-eh-ya.
Got it? Let’s
cook!

1 April 2010 CONFUSE THEIR TONGUES AND RULE:
I often bitch about the fact that we have eleven official languages
in SA, claiming that it a sure-fire way to ensure that we never
understand each other and a powerful deterrent to racial harmony
and a united nation.
I had no idea that Nelson Mandela and the ANC were simply following
a divine strategy to remain in power well into the future. Read
