This does not mean that visually
impaired people have better sight than blind people, or
that hearing impaired people can hear better than deaf people,
but it is supposed to make them feel less handicapped.
And then of course there are
always those who thrive on taking things further.
There are no longer diseases. We now have conditions.
Broken homes are now dysfunctional families and graffiti
is people’s art.
There is an annual contest
at the University of New Brunswick, Canada,
calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary
term.
This year's term was: "Political Correctness".
The winner wrote:

fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rapidly
promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds
forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick
