THOUGHTS THAT MAKE YOU THINK

I read Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged while I was still in high school.
That’s a long, long time ago!

It was a very despicable no-real-substance character in the book that posed the ridiculous question ‘Why do you think you think?’ but for some reason the question has stayed with me.
Probably because I hate unanswered questions and I have to admit that I am still unable to answer it.
Not even sarcastically.

Anyway, here are ten thoughts that should make you think, or at least smile.
But there are no guarantees. :-)

· How come stealing from one book is plagiarism, but stealing from many is research

· Man is the only animal who enjoys the consolation of believing in a next life. All other animals enjoy the luxury of not worrying about it

· In this, the late afternoon of my life, I wonder: Am I casting a longer shadow or is my shadow casting a shorter me

· The only Zen you can find on the tops of mountains is the Zen you bring up there

· Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone

· People who say nothing is impossible should try gargling with their mouths closed

· Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm

· The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes

· Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes

· If you want to make god laugh, tell him your future plans
