ONE STEP CLOSER TO SEEING POONAM NAKED
Indians are fanatical about cricket.
They are also a superstitious lot with many strange (to
us) customs, traditions, beliefs and rites.
When it comes to cricket, fans go all out
in support of their team.
They dress up in extravagant costumes in the team colours,
paint their faces and even cut and dye their hair to show
their support for the Indian cricket team.

Some pour milk on cut-outs of their favourite
cricketers, others wear all sorts of weird talismans and
some hold chain prayer meetings for divine intervention
in the game.
19-year-old Poonam Pandey, a Mumbai-born model
and aspiring actress, recently joined the ranks of Catherine
Zeta-Jones, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Sharon Stone
as the most downloaded model on the internet, and is featured
in no less than a whopping twenty-seven 2011 calendars worldwide,
including the exclusive Gladrags Calendar and Kingfisher Calendar.
When it comes to supporting the Indian cricket
team, Poonam, a self-confessed cricket fanatic, has ideas
other than milk and chain prayers.
In support of her country and
as an extra incentive to spur the team on, she has promised
to strip naked in front of 90 000 spectators and millions
of TV viewers if India wins the Cricket World Cup.
And, if the ICC and Indian government won’t
allow that, she is prepared to do a private strip for the
team in their dressing room after the game.
Well, after India beat archrivals Pakistan
in the semi-final yesterday, we are one step closer to seeing
Poonam bare all.
Let’s hope Sri Lanka doesn't spoil
our fun on Saturday!
