WIE AANHOU, WEN

I had become extremely disillusioned with the entertainment industry in Cape Town, and towards the middle of 2008 I decided to pursue other options.

My timing could not have been more perfect, as the recession hit the world at about the same time, and late last year I had to accept that I would have to go back to doing what I know best.

But getting ‘back in’ proved to be easier said then done.

In just over a year, my reputation in the industry had been all but forgotten, and the contacts that I had built up over many years had either moved on, or had given up on me and avoided me.

I have been going through a very difficult time for quite a while now, and many times I have felt that things were never going to improve.

But, because I love myself, I refused to give up, and although it was extremely difficult at times, I did not stop believing that I was qualified and competent enough to succeed.
And I did not stop pursuing opportunities.

During that time, in the face of countless rejections, I often got extremely annoyed with those close to me, when, in trying to comfort me, they said things like ‘Everything happens for a reason’ and ‘It was not meant to be.’

Well, yesterday I had two follow-up meetings.
Neither of the parties had ever worked with me, so my reputation meant nothing to them.

But, my expertise and confidence was evident enough for the one party to open the door and invited me in.
This is one of the most established venues in Cape Town, and potentially the most lucrative entertainment contract in Cape Town.

The other party, a very exciting but struggling new venue, liked my pitch and has invited me to submit a detailed proposal.

I am grateful and proud of myself.

Cape Town can look forward to some fresh, classy and exciting parties and events in the very near future!

Live the Yummie Lifestyle.
I am worth it!
