IT’S ALL SO FAMILIAR

Parents sends 19 year-old to shop for bread and milk.
On the way, 19 year-old decides to visit girlfriend who is at her high school’s sports day, with her seven-month-old baby from 19-year-old.

While playing with his baby, 19-year-old sees four men approaching and quickly hands baby to friend. Four men shoot 19-year-old several times, killing him.

This was the third time that this 19-year-old was shot at. It happened in December, and again just last week. His brother was killed in similar fashion in 2008

After the killing, his grandfather says he did not know why the 19-year-old had been killed, but suspected the shooting was linked to friends of his grandson who were thought to be gang members.

It’s all so familiar.

Meanwhile, back in KZN, Bongani Sibisi assures us that there was nothing untoward in the awarding of a contract for catering services for the KZN legislature.

According to him, the contract had been put on public tender and 53 bidders had submitted proposals.

The fact that the multimillion-rand contract was awarded to Nonkululeko Mhlongo, who just happens to be the mother of two of Jacob Zuma’s children, is pure coincidence, he would have us believe.

Mhlongo was paid R1 303 671.50 in 2008/09 and has so far received R2 359 880.81 in 2009/10.

It’s all so familiar.
