But today, Lady Gaga is the most Googled
female in the world and the in-crowd can’t get enough
of her.
Paris Hilton has long been a media favourite,
but the paparazzi are finding it more and more difficult
to keep her in the news.
Being caught with a little dope in South Africa is hardly
news, and just yesterday a news site was so desperate that
they published the headline ‘Paris buys Mansion for
Pet Hamster.’ Turns out it was a plastic toy ‘Hamster
Mansion.’
Lady Gaga on the other hand, has got this
media thing down to an art, and her studious theatre and
music days at school sets her in a class that poor Paris
can only dream of.
At the 2010 Video Music Awards on Sunday,
the singer won no fewer than 8 awards.
But Gaga knows that even this is not enough to keep her
in the headlines.
She wore several different costumes on the
night, and the one that caused a stir was a dress and matching
purse made out of nothing but red meat!
Her Gaganess is honest enough to say that
she had many different reasons for wearing the dress, one
of them being "If we don't stand
up for what we believe in and if we don't fight for our
rights, pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as
the meat on our bones," as the 24-yesr-old told talk
show host Ellen DeGeneres on her show on Monday.
"And, I am not a piece of meat," she added.
Cher, who presented the awards, probably
hit it on the head when she said ‘Everyone is talking
about it. BINGO!’
