It appears that years of wearing
tight hair extensions have taken a toll on the model’s
natural hair, causing severe breakage. Hair loss associated
with hair braiding, weaving and extensions is known as ‘traction
alopecia’.
But it seems that assaulting
her assistants, housekeepers, limousine drivers and policemen
at airports is not enough for Ms Campbell.
She was recently subpoenaed to an Amsterdam
courthouse to testify in the trial of ex-Liberian President
Charles Taylor, who is charged with 11 counts of war crimes
and crimes against humanity.
Taylor is accused of illegally selling diamonds to pay for
a civil war in nearby Sierra Leone for a ten-year span from
1992 to 2001.
According to prosecutors, Ms Campbell received
an uncut diamond from Taylor -- referred to in the media
as a "blood diamond" -- at a 1997 South Africa
party hosted by former South African president, Nelson Mandela.
At this rate, Naomi will probably end up
pulling out her few remaining hairs.
