T00 PROUD FOR PRIDE

I am not entirely sure whether the language in this post is even correct, but here we go.

I am often astounded by people who allow pride to govern how they interact and communicate in their relationships, as well as in the community and society as a whole.
I don’t practice that as a rule.

For example, if someone wants to borrow money from me, and I cannot afford to do so, I simply say ‘I don’t have that kind of money.’

Body & Soul Weightloss

I am not too proud to say that because it is the truth.

My neighbour, when asked the same question will say ‘Call me tomorrow’ or ‘I’ll let you know in a day or two’ knowing full well that he will do no such thing and that he will avoid the call when the person calls him the next day.
He cannot afford to lend the person the money either, but he is too proud to admit it.

It seems a bit strange, but maybe that’s how it works.
Sort of different strokes for different folks.

Circumstance does not determine who I am as a person. Why then should I be embarrassed, ashamed or too proud to admit to the truth?

(Yes. I Know :-)

I am not too proud to divulge the truth about my own situation.

My neighbour is too proud to divulge the truth about his situation.

Afterwards he asks me ‘Have you no pride?’

I honestly don’t get it.

Has he no pride?
