At first glance, I would have sworn that
this was a group of gay professional dancers.
But when another 1500 dancers joined them in the routine
I thought ‘Where the hell do all these gay professional
dancers come from.
Turns out they are actually rapists, murderers
and drug traffickers!
In 2007, Michael Jackson’s choreographer
Travis Payne taught inmates to dance to Thriller as part
of Cebu Prison in the Phillipines’ rehabilitation
program.
The prisoners achieved cult status around
the world and to date the video on Youtube generated 37.5million
hits.
Sony has wasted no time in recognising
a marketing coup, and sent Payne back to Cebu to record
a routine for the release of his posthumous DVD, This
Is It.
The clip was posted Youtube on Friday, ahead of the release
of This Is It.
When the DVD was released globally yesterday,
the clip had already been viewed 600 000 times on Youtube..
Officials at the prison claim that fighting
amongst inmates is down markedly since the dancing
was introduced!
