They are advising us to save at least
50% of the bonus, make our own gifts, and use the other
50% to pay off our credit facilities and close them,
pay our child’s annual school fees upfront, and
pay all arrear service bills like electricity and water.
Do they think we are getting a R100k
bonus?
Do they know how much we owe?
Do they even know that we have more than one child?
I have my own advice on how to use your
bonus.
I think I told you this
last year too.
Blow it!
Use it to spoil yourself. Even if it is just for a week.
Even if you were able to use the bonus
to get yourself out of the hole, by the end of January
you will be back in the hole.
So take a break and spoil yourself.
Use it on whatever will make you happy.
You deserve it.
Although the word bonus means ‘unexpected
extra’ most of us expect it, anticipate it, indeed
feel entitled to it.
