BEAUTIES
INVADE JOHANNESBURG
If you were at OR Tambo International
on Saturday you are forgiven for thinking that you
had suddenly been transported to red-blooded-male-paradise.
113 of the 120 contestants in the
2009 Miss World pageant arrived in South Africa
on Saturday and OR Tambo and transformed the airport
into something akin to Hollywood.
Or the Playboy mansion on a respectable day.

The pageant will be staged in at Gallagher
Estate - for the second consecutive year – on December
12.
Miss World is cited as the benchmark for
beauty across cultures.
To date the most titles awarded to a country
are India and Venezuela (5); United Kingdom (4); Iceland,
Jamaica and Sweden (3) and South Africa joining seven
other countries who have won the title twice.
|
Also amongst
the bevy of beauties is Miss World 2008, Russia’s
Kseniya Sukhinova.

Good luck to
South Africa’s Tatum Lucy Keshwar. No matter
the outcome, we think she is yummie! |

The City of Gold will be hosting this
spectacle for the second year running and will be showcasing
its charms as well as those of the 113 represented countries.
The contestants have a busy month-long schedule before
the finale. Jozi residents will be able to get a good
look at the gorgeous contestants when they pay visits
to various events across the city including trips to
Soweto and Soccer City as well as the Johannesburg Zoo
for the Miss World Children’s Christmas Party.
An extensive nationwide tour is also
included in their itenary.
