CRUISING
INTO CAPE TOWN
It may not be the largest cruise
ship in the world, but is certainly one of the largest
and most luxurious to have docked in Cape Town for
a very long time.
The nine-storey MSC Sinfonia docked
in the Eastern Mole of the city’s harbour
yesterday, on its maiden voyage to South Africa.
It set sail again last night, on it’s way
to Durban, and 600 South Africans have joined the
cruise. |

The Italian vessel boasts two swimming
pools, a jogging track, three restaurants, a casino, a
Budha Bar, 780 cabins, a nightclub, an Irish pub, a health
club, mini golf and many other amenities. You can even
take Italian lessons while on the cruise!
The ship left Italy in
October with about 1 000 guests on board. Its last stop
was Walvis Bay in Namibia.
From Durban, there will be a series of
cruises to Mozambique and other Indian Ocean islands
until the end of the summer season in April. When the
ship leaves Durban on November 14, about 2 000 guests
are expected to be on board.
