THE
GREATEST LYRICS EVER
What, in your opinion,
would be the most profound lyrics ever written?
I have many personal favorites, but mostly it is
just a line or two from the song that grabs me.
‘Emancipate
yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves
can free our minds’ from Bob Marley’s
Redemption Song for example.
Or ‘People
live in cages that are tailor-made and come in every
size’ from Michel Colombier’s Freedom
and Fear. |

Ultimately though, John Lennon gets my
first prize
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
