When it was Charlize’s
turn, her offering of a trip to South Africa to watch
a game at the soccer world cup and a meet-and-greet
with Madiba could only raise a highest bid of R296 000.
‘For fuck’s sake’
an audibly upset Charlize said over the mic. ‘
You can do better than that. There is no way I am leaving
here with Jeremy Piven getting a higher bid.’
She then offered to throw in
a 20-second smooch, and that grabbed the attention of
the bidders.
Charlize was a bit shocked
when an unknown woman offered the highest bid of R1.1-million,
but she sportingly went ahead and locked lips with the
woman as the cheering crowd counted down the seconds.
In the meantime, Madiba’s
people have said that the meet-and-greet with the statesman
was not authorised and will not take place as Mandela’s
time was ‘not for sale.’
I don’t think the woman would
mind very much.
She got her smooch with Charlie Tronn.
